PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. PGA HOPE introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.
The program introduces the game of golf through a developmental 6-8 week curriculum, taught by PGA Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency. All programs are funded by PGA REACH and supplemented by PGA Section Foundations, so the cost of programming is free to all Veterans.
Through a robust program strategy, PGA HOPE aspires to create a physically and emotionally healthier Veteran community by shaping lives, changing lives, and possibly saving lives through the game of golf.
"The Veterans golf bag program is consistent with the mission of Bloom and fits perfectly under our golf umbrella," states Jessie Stewart, Bloom President & PGA member. The junior golf bag program has been very successful, so it’s only natural to continue growing our programs and giving back to the PGA Sections Foundations that we partner with. That remains our sole focus on the golf side, grow the game by helping to deliver funds at the grass-roots level. Funding raised from this program goes back to the PGA section to support the growth of their individual Veterans programs. This will directly benefit our veterans and that is incredible.
“I have a vested interest in the PGA HOPE program because my Dad is a Veteran and it means a lot to me to support the efforts being put forth by the PGA of America. We look forward to seeing this program grow and seeing patrons walking around with a Veterans Bag of Honor showing their support of our Veterans.”
